As we approach the crest of the journey, we see how far we’ve come along the way.
Approaching therapy for the first time can feel daunting. But what if you could see it as a journey along a trodden pathway in the mountains? What if you could have a guide beside you at every step, calling out the obstacles before you reach them? Could you find your way?
What we do
-
Individual Counseling
We provide specialized treatment in consideration of each client’s goals and needs, serving adults 18+ experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, self-esteem, stress and anger management, trauma, and substance use.
-
Couples Counseling
Utilizing the Gottman Method and other modalities, we help couples navigate conflict and disconnection by creating a space for them to turn towards each other with compassion and empathy and effectively communicate while demonstrating kindness and respect.
-
Professional Networking
We strive to maintain and expand our network of credible and trusted professionals within the mental health community who share the same goal—providing quality care to their clients. We also accept LPC-Associates for supervision in pursuit of their full licensure.
We exist to restore the relationship between individuals and their therapy journey.
Providing counseling services for adults ready to address the challenges of their mental health. We make quality, impactful therapy accessible through the breadth of knowledge of our own practice and a network of excellent professionals.

In taking inspiration from the words "crest" and "terra":
Crest: (noun) the highest part of a hill or mountain range; summit
Terra: (noun) Earth; land or territory.
Our definition of Cresterra is a secure, grounded space for reflection, process, and prospective.

The letters behind a therapist’s name describe their training. “MS” indicates that a Masters of Science program has been completed.
“LPC” stands for Licensed Professional Counselor, which is obtained by completing necessary education requirements and 3,000 hours of supervised experience in order to independently provide care for clients.
“LPC-S” means Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and designates an LPC who is approved by the board to supervise LPC-Associates after being fully licensed for five years and completing an additional 40-hour training course.
“LCDC” stands for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, which is a board-approved credential for those who complete additional training and experience in the chemical dependency field.

If you are interested in booking a session with Cresterra Counseling, you can schedule 15-minute consult through our portal link. This will be a brief phone call with the counselor, free of cost. We will discuss your concerns, goals, insurance, and preferred times/availability as a basic screen for a good match. If either the counselor or the potential client does not believe that their needs would be met, then the counselor will provide other recommendations from their professional network for the potential client to consider.
-
After completing your intake paperwork, including a questionnaire that elaborates on your history, concerns and goals, you and the counselor will meet for about 60 minutes to assess and obtain relevant information in order to develop a treatment plan. This meeting takes the form of a Q&A session, and you are encouraged to ask any questions you may have about the process and the counselor’s approach to make sure you feel comfortable working with the us going forward. After an initial intake session, the “therapy” part of counseling begins with more of a process- and skill-based focus.
For couples, after the initial intake session, the counselor will recommend meeting with each of you individually in order to obtain additional information and personal observations of the relationship dynamics without the influence of the other partner being present. After the individual sessions, you will then meet again with the counselor jointly for a brief summarization of the counselor’s observations and to develop a course of trajectory for skill development.
-
Individual therapy sessions typically last 45-50 minutes. You will work with your counselor to determine a meeting frequency of weekly or bi-weekly depending on your needs. Your length of time in therapy will depend on your personal needs and circumstance. You will work with your counselor to determine that together.

Yes, we are in-network with most major insurance companies including BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, and (soon!) UHC. However, coverage for mental health services vary by plan. You can call your insurance carrier’s customer service line to clarify the benefits that your plan offers. You can also find more answers to insurance questions on the Headway website.
The self-pay rate is $180 per session (50 minutes), and a sliding scale can be offered based on income and circumstances.
Please note that certain insurance policies may not cover couples counseling. Our office is willing to verify benefits before initiating services, but we also recommend that you contact your insurance provider to clarify policy coverage.
